Ill health shows up in the skin, eyes, nails, hair - and is often due to poor food choices. Beauty comes from the inside out. What we consume directly affects our skin and determines how we age. Avoid inflammatory foods (sugars, dairy, excessive alcohol, refined carbohydrates, and processed foods), and choose foods in the list below if you want to achieve your healthiest body and the most youthful, radiant, bright beautiful skin you’ll ever have! It’s important to note that these foods must be organic free of toxic chemicals.

Water

Keeps skin clear and hydrated. Daily goal: half your bodyweight in lbs is how many ounces of water you should be drinking each day as a minimum requirement. I would aim for 2L each day.

Omega-3’s Essential Fatty Acids

Necessary for repair of the skin’s protective barrier keeping moisture locked in. Improves skin texture and tone.

Source: Chia seeds which has more omega-3 than flaxseeds or wild salmon. Fish, walnuts, almonds, hemp seeds, and eggs (organic, free-range) are excellent choices.

Greens

High in vitamin A which helps balance sebum (oil) in the skin. Dark leafy greens protect the skin from UV radiation, and free-radical damage.

Source: Collard greens, spinach, watercress, arugula, chard, kale, leaf lettuce.

Berries

Loaded with antioxidants which help fight free-radical damage preventing fine lines, wrinkles, sagging and dullness of the skin. Also promotes collagen production. Super anti-aging foods!

Source: Blueberries and raspberries are your best bet.

Protein

Protein is made up of amino acids which repair cellular damage.

Source: Wild salmon, fish, nuts, and seeds.

Asparagus

Rich in bioflavonoids which strengthen small capillaries in the skin and help prevent broken capillaries. Asparagus also contains a special antioxidant - glutathione which is very effective in fighting and suppressing free-radical damage.

More Healthy Fats

Sources: Avocados, and olive oil.

Turmeric

A powerhouse anti-inflammatory. Has skin cell protective properties protecting against oxidative stress helping with skin tone, texture, and colour. Slows aging process.

Ginger

Powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-aging benefits, high in antioxidants which prevent free-radical damage. Evens skin tone, and improves skin elasticity.

Lemons + Limes

Play an important role in the maintenance of elastin and stabilization of collagen.
